Can you recognize a distraction when it happens, you know, very often, I tell myself I'm going to do something, and then in the process of doing that thing. My mind shoots off into different directions, and all of a sudden it adds five other things that I should be doing as well.
So, as I'm in the process to do that one thing. I see that the timeline branches off in different timelines, and then I go do that other thing, and very often I catch myself doing the other thing and waking up to the realization that I told myself I was not supposed to do that other thing. How did I end up here?
And so, part of becoming a master is becoming aware and catch yourself in the act when you do it, and then tell yourself, no stick the course, no no no.
Your mind will fight you; a whole bunch of, yeah but, yeah but, yeah but
This is the moment you need to stay strong and stand up to your own mind.
She will convince you that you can multitask and it’s not a problem.
You’ll end up doing things at an okay level but never good. At a good level but never great. You don’t improve. Without you realizing it, you stay stuck because the unconscious mind is constantly rotating you in circles.
Multitasking is a myth, you can look it up, the new science has already confirmed that, so what we are really doing is distracting ourselves from what is important. We lack focus. When we lack focus, we will never be able to do anything at the level of excellence because your mind keeps wandering off in different directions.
So, if you want to become a master you have to become aware of your triggers; when does you mind redirect you. And when she tries to do it, make it unacceptable, stick the course, tell her no.
Put it to the test; T ell yourself; I am going to do this X thing at the Y time.
And see how your mind derails you from this task. Pay attention if you are really doing that thing at the time, you said you were gonna do it because this is pure self-sabotage at its best and you are not even aware of it.
Pay attention how often your mind puts you somewhere else instead of where you wanted to be. And how often does it happen on a day to day basis.
Once you become aware of the fact that you are doing this. Write down how often this happens to you. Create a record of you own behavior, so that if later your own mind tries to deny it, you have proof. Yes, its that serious. She will lie to you to get her way. Now, you can see in tangible form where your time and energy is going instead of where it was supposed to go.
So, what is very funny to me now, well it wasn't funny then, but I can laugh at myself now, is that I'm fully aware of the fact that my mind is the emissary and my soul is the master. But my mind is constantly trying to take over, constantly trying to tell me what to do. It's like my own mind is bossing me around.
And at a certain point, you got to like laugh at yourself, but take your power back from your own mind, because your own mind is going to tell you no…..
……now., go left, and now take a right, and now turn around in circles and now hop!
At a certain point, you got to be like, wait a minute, wait a minute. I gotcha. Now, it's like you catch your saboteur in the act. Right. That's why I have a snatcher saboteur session. My one on one private coaching session that helps you catch your saboteur in the act. So, you can put a spotlight on her and sees how she is always throwing a wrench in your plans.
If you don’t bring her into the light, she can always hide in the shadows. Your whole day, will pass by and at the end of the day you can’t even tell yourself what you did. Where have you been? Where has your mind been?
And that’s when you start beating yourself up because you couldn’t keep the promise to yourself and end up saying things that are absolutely not true, like I lack motivation, or I can’t trust myself, but has nothing to do with that.
It’s the inner saboteur messing with you. In order to keep you small, she make you feel everybody else is more important than you. You end up doing everything for others but nothing for yourself. That one thing you really wanted to do but all of a sudden you start feeling guilty about it and end up doing other things cause your mind redirected you away from your Self.
You have the natural ability to walk towards your Soul. There is nothing you have to do, and nobody has to teach you this, it’s innate. But the inner saboteur has been given power to constantly move you away from your own light, and at a certain point in life you start believing this is the norm.
You can stop this by becoming aware when you get distracted and keeping yourself on task no matter what your mind says. Start practicing this, and I promise, you will be laughing at yourself because you will finally realize how often you have been stopping yourself from really fully accomplishing the things you dream of but never got to it. Self-Awareness is the key.
